Paperless Applicant Tracking System (PATS)

The Syracuse City School District is now utilizing the Paperless Applicant Tracking System (PATS) for all open positions in the school district.  PATS is designed for current employees as well as prospective new applicants.   All district applications must be completed online through PATS. You may also use PATS to view current job postings.  There is no longer any paper applications being used or accepted.  To login into the system please go to https://PATS.SCSD.us.

If you do not have access to a computer or the ability to go online we have two computer kiosks set up in our Personnel Office at 725 Harrison St. where you can login and fill out an application online.  If you have any questions please call the Personnel Office at 435-4171.

SCSD Teaching and Learning Framework and Rubric

The Syracuse City School District will be using the SCSD Teaching and Learning Framework and Rubric to evaluate K-5 teachers for the 2012-2013 school year. Teachers of students in grades 6-12 will continue to be evaluated using the Danielson Framework for Teaching and Learning. This rubric, which has been approved by the New York State Education Department, will serve as a tool to aid in the observation, coaching and development, and growth of all K-5 teachers. It will not be used as a checklist, but rather as a guide, with observers rating teachers based on “a preponderance of collected data.’’ So, while teachers may not exhibit all the bulleted skills within a level, observers will use their professional judgment along with the Framework and Rubric to decide on ratings and to write growth plans. Medicaid Reporting and Compliance

If you suspect fraud, abuse or waste in Medicaid Claims made by, or in connection with, the Syracuse City School District we encourage you to report them to Medicaid Compliance Officer, Lynne Sheldon. Examples of Medicaid fraud include: billing for services not performed, providing unnecessary services, billing for more expensive services, billing for services separately that should legitimately be one billing, billing more than once for the same medical service, dispensing generic drugs but billing for brand name drugs.

You can reach Ms. Sheldon at her confidential phone 315.435.4873 or by mail at:
SCSD Central Offices
1025 Erie Blvd. West
Syracuse, NY 13204.

There is also a toll free New York State Medicaid Hotline which you can call at 1.877.87.FRAUD. This hotline is set up solely for the purpose of providing employees, service providers, parents and the general public an opportunity to confidentially report any suspected wrongdoing of Medicaid billing by the district. All calls are anonymous and upon receipt of a report an investigation will be initiated immediately.
