Syracuse City School District High Students to Present Spring Musicals

Students from across the Syracuse City School District will be performing in their high school musicals in the coming weeks. Hundreds of students will be cast in Avenue Q, Legally Blonde, Once On This Island and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.

Legally Blonde

The Nottingham Harlequins open the spring musical season with Legally Blonde. Show times are March 9th and 10th at 7:00 PM with a matinee on Sunday, March 11th at 2:30 PM.

Legally Blonde contains upbeat pop numbers that have had the kids singing and dancing in the halls of Nottingham. It is a production with a straight forward message with fun numbers and roles for young women. No one gets to the top without a whole lot of hard work and dedication. Elle doesn’t get into Harvard without hitting the books and ignoring the partying going on around her. She’s laughed at on the first day of class, when she arrives without having done her required reading. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy, especially when obtaining an education; Emmett works so hard that he barely has time to sleep.

The otherwise inappropriate work has been adapted specifically for high school performers and audiences, allowing it’s themes to reach a much wider audience.
