HW Smith Students Present “I Want My Mummy”
Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students at HW Smith have been preparing for almost 2 months to present “I Want My Mummy” to audiences. The students memorized over 24 pages of dialogue and music in preparation for the show.
During rehearsals students not only worked on the dialogue and music but they learned improvisatory skills, comedic timing, vocal projection, basic theater skills, concepts, and vocabulary.
Plot Summary
The Baroness has had to sell the infamous Castle Frankenstein to pay for her experiments. She has invited some unusual creatures to come and share the castle with her. Mrs. Hoople the new owner shows up for a surprise inspection and doesn't understand why the place looks so run down, after all she is paying for a staff. Baroness convinces the creatures to pretend to be the staff and hilarity ensues when an uninvited guest shows up during the inspection. Join us as we find out what happens when the monsters of the world decide to live together at Castle Frankenstein.
