A Story of a Loving Family
Once there were two best friends named Maria and Brandon. One day
they wanted to go on a picnic. But it started to rain, so they stayed home and
had a picnic.
At the picnic they ate some turkey sandwiches and drank some iced
tea. At that picnic they finally realized after 4 years of being friends that
they were in love.
They soon married and had a
child. Their child’s name was Samantha. Samantha was a great child.
After they had their child,
Brandon worked a lot so they did not spend much time together. Then the family
decided to look up some places that they could go. And that’s when he found out
that they could go to Hawaii.
The family wanted to go on a
cruise to Hawaii, and now they can finally go there. But the route they wanted
was cancelled, so they had to wait. The next day they got the route and were so
excited.
On the cruise they had fun.
They played games, danced, and had a good dinner together.
Now they always spend time
together as a family. They go places together. They play games together. And
they have fun together.

VALENTINE DANCE
One dark and gloomy
Valentine’s Day everyone was getting ready for the Valentine Dance except me. I
didn’t have anyone to go to the dance with. My friend Sarah called.
“Are you going to the dance?” Sarah asked.
“I don’t know,’’ I said.
She told me to hurry up and
get dressed. I went into my closet and got a pair of blue jeans, a pink shirt,
and some pink old skools. I went outside and waited for her to pick me up for 45
minutes.
When we got there it was
boring and quiet. Nothing exciting was happening. The D.J. was playing boring
music. When other fifth graders came it started to get worse for me because I
didn’t have anyone to dance with. I was just sitting there watching everyone
dance to hip-hop.
Finally, this new boy asked
me to dance with him. We went on the dance floor and started to dance. At the
end of the dance he gave me a ride home.
“Thank you for the dance,”
he said.
“Your welcome,” I said.
When I got into my house I
was so excited that someone danced with me. I ran to my telephone and called
Sarah.
I said “Hello, Sarah, this
was the best night of my life.”
I never thought that anyone
would dance with me at that Valentine dance.

“Cindy Love”
Everyone in Mrs. Fowl’s
class was excited about Valentine’s Day. Everyone was making a card but Jimmy.
He didn’t believe in Valentine’s Day or Cupid. It was 2:00 o’clock, and everyone
went home except for Jimmy. He needed to pick up a few things from the science
room.
He opened up his locker, and a note fell out. The note read:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
I like you,
Do you like me too?
Circle Yes or No
Love,
Libby
“What is she thinking? Well I’m not falling for that,” Jimmy
whispered to himself. Jimmy ran home as fast as he could. “What if Cindy finds
out about this? Then I can’t ask her to be my valentine,” Jimmy thought to
himself. When he finally reached home he called Sean and Carl to meet him at the
candy bar in 10 minutes.
By
the time that Jimmy got there Sean and Carl were talking to Libby. Jimmy ran out
of the candy bar screaming, ”Noooooooooooooo!”
When he got home, he went
down to his lab. “If Libby wants to be my valentine then so will Cindy,” said
Jimmy. He put 2 mushy gushy cards in a machine and in less than four hours a man
with a diaper on popped out, carrying a heart shaped arrow.
“Hi! Um, um, um. What’s
your name?” said the man wearing the diaper.
“Jimmy,” said Jimmy.
“Yes, hello, what can I do
for you?” asked the strange little man.
“Well,” said Jimmy. “You see
I have this problem because this girl named Libby wants to be my valentine, but
I want Cindy to be my valentine so I need you to make Cindy fall in love with
me,” he said extra fast.
“Well slow down there. I can
make Cindy fall in love with you as soon as you tell me where she lives,” said
Cupid.
”How about I just call her
and tell her to meet me at the candy bar in about 20 minutes?” asked Jimmy.
“Great idea,” said Cupid.
Then Jimmy called up Cindy.
When they met at the candy bar Cupid started to go crazy. He started to make
everyone fall in love.
“Cupid what are you…,” Jimmy began to say. Cupid just made Jimmy and Cindy all
in love. Jimmy and Cindy were too busy laughing at each other’s corny jokes to
bother with Cupid.
“Cindy,” said Jimmy.
“Yes, my love,” said Cindy.
As they leaned in to kiss,
something came over Jimmy. He ran out of the candy bar as fast as he could. When
he reached home he went back down to the lab.
“Oh, no!!! What have I
done?” he screamed.
The
invention went wrong. Then he remembered the love letters he put in. He took
them out of machine. They read:
My husband and I want to wish you a
Happy Valentine’s Day. May you all fall
In love!!!
Hue and Jimmy’s mom
Jimmy called up Sean and
Carl.
“Guys, meet me outside my
house in 2 minutes. It’s an emergency!” Jimmy shouted.
Then there was a knock on
the door. It was Sean and Carl.
“What’s up chief?” said
Sean.
“Ok, I made a cupid and now
he’s going all around town making everyone fall in love,” said Jimmy.
Then they made a plan.
“Ok Sean, you’re going to
stay at the candy bar, Carl, you’re going to stay here, and I’m going around
town,” said Jimmy.
Then they went their
separate ways. All of a sudden Cupid walked into the candy bar. “Science to
Birdbrain,” said Sean.
“Yeah Sean,” said Jimmy.
“I have contacted lover boy
at the candy bar,” he said.
“Sean, don’t let him get
away, I’ll be there in one minute.”
Surely Jimmy was there
within one minute. Then they caught Cupid and took him back to the lab.
“Goodbye Cupid, we’re
sending you to Love Land,” said Carl. The spell was broken. The next day at
school Cindy came over to Jimmy’s desk.
“Jimmy,” said Cindy.
“Yes,” said Jimmy.
“Will you be my valentine?”
asked Cindy. “Yes. Yes, I will. I’m glad you asked,” Jimmy said very softly.
Then they gave each other their valentine cards.

The Dogs Who Found Their Valentine
One
day my friend and I were walking home from school and saw a mama dog and her
puppies. I went to see the dogs so I could pet them. I looked at them. They
looked hungry and tired. I picked the puppies up and brought them along.
I
took the dogs to see a vet. I asked the vet if they were okay.
“No, the mom has cancer, and the puppies have leg problems,” the vet said.
“How much will it be to fix the dogs’ problems?” I asked.
She said, “1,000 dollars.”
I
started to put up signs saying help needed for dogs. One day later I received
money from lots of people. Now I was only 100 dollars short. I had to find a way
to get 100 dollars.
“Mom, do you need any work done around the house?” I asked.
“
Yes,” she said. When I was finished she gave me 100 dollars.
Then I took the money to the vet, and they started to fix the puppies’ legs,
then they fixed the mama dog’s cancer. When they were finished, I said, “They
are going to have to stay here.” Then the dogs started to cry. I left, but when
I got home I asked my mom if I could have a dog. She said, “No.”
That night I took a nap. I went out of my bedroom window and ran to the vet. I
gave the dogs lots of hugs and kisses because they needed someone to love them,
play with them, and take good care of them. When I stopped hugging and kissing,
I looked up and saw my mom looking over at me.
She
said, “Yes, you can have a dog. What you did for those dogs no one else would’ve
done.”
When I got home I asked if I did a little work around the house, could I get all
the dogs?
“I’ll think about it,” she said.
I
started to rake the leaves and mow the grass. I worked for at least 3 weeks and
still did not get any of the dogs, so I was mad. My birthday came up, and I
thought that I was going to get the dogs, but when the party was over there were
still no dogs.
Mom
brought a big box into my room with dog wrapping paper on the box, and when she
told me to open it, the dogs popped out. I started to hug them tightly, and I
said that was the best party ever.
A
few months later I found a boy dog and took him to the vet and got his shots. I
gave the puppies a dad, and the mamma a husband.

The Best
Valentine’s Day Ever
It was
almost the Valentine’s Day dance at McKinley-Brighton School with all of the 5th
graders. Nobody had a date to the dance except for some couples in the school,
Janeisha and Charles,Tykeya and Jalen, and a whole lot more. Last year they were
voted the best couples of the year and this year, too.
The days were passing by, and there were signs hanging up about the dance. When
Asia, Jamilah, Andre, Augustine, Danielle, and Dylan looked at the signs, they
kept on looking for the person that they were going to go the dance with.
The next day Asia and Jamilah were walking down the hallway and saw that Chris
Brown and Omarion, the two famous rappers, were coming to their school and were
looking for two people to be their dates. Asia and Jamilah did whatever they
could to get everybody a date so that Jamilah could be with Chris Brown and Asia
could be with Omarion.
When they got to the dance they had lots of fun, and everybody had a good time
with their dates. They couldn't wait until they could see Asia and Jamilah to
thank them for hooking them up with the people they were with. Then Asia and
Jamilah got to go up on stage and sing with Omarion and Chris Brown when Chris
Brown sang “Yo” and Omarion sang “Touch.” While they were singing everybody was
dancing, and then they did a soul train line. Everyone had a great time. Jamilah
and Asia got tickets from Chris Brown and Omarion for the next scream tour.
The next day everybody was crowding Asia and Jamilah asking them about the boys
and how they were and what they did after the show. Everybody thanked Asia and
Jamilah for putting them with their date.

MR. AND MRS. RAYMOND
It was June 25th, 2003 a pretty good day. A man named Ed got a call from a man
named John telling him to come to a wedding. He said that the wedding will start
at 1:30 and end at 2:00. The people getting married were George and Stephanie.
A lady named Kelly got a call to go to the same wedding. So Ed called Kelly to
ask her if she would like to go with him to the wedding. She said yes.
When they arrived together they went in. They liked each other a lot so they sat
next to each other. Some people think they are a good couple. They have been
going with each other for 6 months and they never got married. When the bride
came out Kelly daydreamed that she was the bride at that moment. Ed also
daydreamed that he was up there married to Kelly because she was so beautiful
and special. When the priest announced husband and wife you may kiss the bride,
Ed and Kelly kissed. Everyone kept looking at them, so they stopped.
When the wedding was over everyone went outside to see who could catch the
flowers, and you should know who caught the flowers already - Ed and Kelly. The
married couple invited Kelly and Ed to dinner with them. When they got there,
they ordered food and drinks and then.... Ed got on his knees, and Kelly looked
over and fainted. So Ed fanned her, then she got up.
He
said, “Kelly, you are so beautiful to me and special in my heart.”
Kelly cried and said, “I do” before ED could say any more, and they kissed.
The married couple, George and Stephanie, were so happy to see them closer
together. 4 weeks later they were MR. and MRS. RAYMOND.

LOVING FOOTBALL
Toad likes football. He
wants to win a super bowl when he grows up. His favorite sport is football
because his whole family played, and he wants to play football for a living some
day.
One sunny day at the park
some animals were playing football. The Toad did not get to play. The Toad got
mad and got his own football and messed up the other animals’ game by getting in
the way. The other animals were really mad at him.
“Toad, why did you mess up
the football game?” Sheila the Frog asked.
“ I am mad because I have no one to play with,” Toad answered. So
Sheila the frog started to play with Toad.
The football coach saw them
playing.
“Do you want to play?” he
asked.
“ Yes,” they both said. They
practiced every day until football practice started. Then a game came up. They
won by 10 points.
They argued about being team
caption. Toad really thought he should be it. They did this right on the field
after the game.
One day in school Cat got
jumped by some dogs and the other animals did not help him. One week later each
of them got jumped. Then they fought in school and got suspended.
Outside they saw each other.
“Why didn’t you help me?”
asked Cat. Nobody could answer him.
The football team did
terrible in their next five games. They realized they needed to be nice and have
a friendship if they were going to win.
Toad finally went to Sheila
the frog and apologized about wanting to be team captain. They worked hard
to become good friends. The last 3 games of the season they won together as a
team.

The True
Meaning of Christmas
There once was a young child named Adrianna. She was 11 years old and wore bows
everyday. She wore them in her hair, on her dresses, even on her shoes.
One Christmas day Adrianna jumped out of bed. She ran downstairs in her pjs to
watch the Sunday morning looney tunes. She liked the singing frog with the hat.
Then she turned the channel to a bible story on TV. “What does Christmas mean
to you?” the show asked. This made her think for a minute. She thought to
herself. It means giving and getting. Coming together to celebrate the birth of
Jesus Christ, the son of the savior named God.
Soon she walked into the living room and heard carolers singing outside. She
thought they sounded beautiful. Then she asked her mother, Tanya, if she could
open her presents.
Her mother said, “First you have to eat your scrambled cheese, eggs, and bacon.”
“Yum.” Adrianna said. “What do we have to drink?”
“We have hot cocoa with marshmallows, whipped cream and a cherry on top.” her
mother answered. “Wow!!, Mom, you really fixed
something special!” Adrianna exclaimed.
“Later we’ll have ginger bread cookies and egg nog,” her mother added.
“Cool.” responded Adrianna!
“Cool.” said Julianna, Adrianna’s younger sister, the copycat.
After they finished they opened presents. Adrianna got an x-box and three games
to go with it.
Julianna got a princess cd player and cds to play on it .
Tanya got a bath and bodyworks kit, cinnamon scented candles and a book to read.
Everyone was happy for the birth of Jesus Christ in Adrianna’s family except her
rotten cousin Ronnie. Ronnie got a lump of coal every year. He always tried to
take other peoples presents but never got away with it.
So
I decided that my 8 yr old cousin Alexandria and I could teach him the meaning
of Christmas. Alexandria and I went into his room and told him he wouldn’t have
to take gifts from others if he knew the meaning of Christmas.
So
I told him about the true meaning of Christmas. I said, “A man and a women had a
child named Jesus that they gave to God. A king followed the North Star to
Jesus. The king made the child and his mother and father wealthy. In return
Jesus gave the king happiness.
Ronnie felt a lot better knowing Christmas wasn’t about presents, especially
since he never got any. Then Adrianna and Alexandria shared their presents with
Ronnie.

Treasuring
Love
Once upon a time there was a rich girl rabbit named Isabel. She lived in a
beautiful large hole which her mother owned. She was used to having everything
she wanted
One day she
went to a vegetable stand. She saw a boy. He was asking for carrots, but he had
no money. Isabel offered to buy the carrot for the boy.
He
said, “Thanks, my name is Steven. What’s yours?”
“Isabel,” she answered. "Would you like to go on the park with me,” she asked.
“Sure,” he said, and they went to Blue Berry Round Park.
They hopped hand in hand. When they got there they found the perfect picnic area
by the coin water fountain. They set the blanket up and Isabel’s butler brought
out roasted carrots, carrot moose, and carrot cake. Steven thought the food was
pretty good.
Isabel had hearts in her eyes, and so did Steven. They had fallen in love.
Isabel brought Steven home to meet her mom. Her mom did not like Steven because
he was not rich.
“Take him home,” said Isabel’s mother. So she took Steven home with an attitude.
When she got there she decided to stay at Steven’s house for awhile. They sat
and watched television for hours.
Meanwhile Isabel’s mother was worried sick. She looked all over town for Isabel.
She went to Isabel’s friends house.
She asked, “Is Isabel here?”
“No,” they said.
“Well, do you know where she is?” said the mother.
“Yes, she is at Steven’s house,” they said.
“Is that on rabbit tunnel,” Isabel’s mother asked again.
“Yes,” they said.
She jumped into her Limo digger and looked for Isabel. She found Steven’s
house. She knocked on the door. Steven’s father answered the door.
“Who are you?” he said.
“Who are you?” she answered.
“I’m Steven’s dad.” he said.
“I’m Isabel’s mom,” she said.
When Isabel heard that, she hid in the bathroom. Isabel’s mother busted in.
“Isabel, I know you’re in here!” she said. “Where is she?”
“In the bathroom,” Steven and his father answered. She hopped over to the
bathroom door and she tried to open it.
“Open this door!” she told her daughter.
“No,” she said, crying.
“Open I,” her mother said.
She opened it and hopped fast to Steven.
“I
told you to stay away from him.” Isabel’s mother yelled.
”No, I Iove him, and you can’t stop me,” Isabel said. Her mother didn’t want to
lose her daughter.
“If you love us you will accept us and let us be,” they said. So the mother
did.
Two years later they were married and had twins. One was a boy and one was a
girl. They got along great. Their grandmother (Isabel’s mother) was the best
babysitter in the world. They all lived happily ever after.

LOVE IS FOREVER
One beautiful and sunny day Mrs. Whitehead decided to take her dog,
Janeisha, for a walk. The rain had just stopped falling, and all the beautiful
colors of the rainbow were shining in the sky. Janeisha had beautiful brown eyes
and a white bow on her head.
Mr. Willams decided his dog, Charles, needed a walk. Charles was
funny, talented, and had beautiful brown eyes.
Both owners left with their dogs and headed to Onondaga
Park.
That’s where they first saw each other. Mrs. Whitehead and Mr.
Williams were both passing by the flower garden. They stopped and said hello to
each other. Charles saw Janeisha and shook his tale. Janeisha had a twinkle in
her eyes.
That’s when a man ran up and grabbed Janeisha.
“Oh no,” said Mrs. Whitehead.
Charles quickly ran after her. Charles couldn't find her anywhere.
He suddenly remembered he could track her by sniffing. He sniffed all over and
couldn't find her scent anywhere. He finally got her scent near the stream.
Meanwhile Mr. Williams and Mrs. Whitehead were frightfully looking
for their dogs. Mrs. Whitehead was crying and couldn't stop.
“Don’t worry I will find them,” Mr. Williams said.
Charles was following Janeisha’s scent. Charles searched in the
flower garden, he went under the fence, over the gate, and saw Janeisha tied up
to a porch. Charles sneakily approached the house. He bit through the rope and
took the rope off of Janeisha. They ran quickly back to the to the park before
the man came back.
Mr. Williams saw them coming back and called to Mrs. Whitehead. They
both were happy to see their dogs and they went back home to get some coffee at
Mrs. Whitehead’s house together.
Eight months later there was a double wedding. Mrs. Whitehead and
Mr. Willams got married, and Charles and Janeisha got married too. Everyone came
to the wedding and they brought their dogs along for Janeisha’s and Charles'
wedding. Everyone enjoyed the wedding. Together Charles, Janeisha, Mrs.
Whitehead, and Mr. Williams lived happily ever after.
